Macquarie Regional library’s Summer reading club

The popular Summer Reading Club returns to Macquarie Regional Library for another fun-filled season from 6 December 2021.

Developed by the State Library of Queensland, the club encourages eager young readers to explore and connect with books and a range of interactive activities held in the library. Created for children and young people aged 5-16, it is a free program that promotes the value of literacy and reading for enjoyment.

Manager of Macquarie Regional Library, Kathryn McAlister said, “This program offers children something fun to do over the holidays, allowing them to grow their reading confidence. It is a great way for children to maintain their reading levels during this time while being rewarded for their efforts with some great prizes.”

To participate in the program, children simply register at any library branch to receive their registration kit. They then log time spent reading and collect prizes and incentives along the way, including local pool vouchers and book prizes from some of the world’s most popular authors.

The program concludes on 31 January 2022.
