Major drug arrest at Cornubia, QLD

A 34-year-old man has been charged with drug and firearm offences after a large quantity of illegal drugs including methylamphetamine, fantasy and MDMA along with $70,000 in cash were allegedly located in a house at Cornubia.

Around 10.30am on October 5 police from the Logan District Drug and Firearm Team with the assistance of Loganholme Police Station and Logan District Tactical Crime Squad executed a search warrant on a rural property.

During a search it is alleged police located concealed in a cavity in a bedroom cupboard 884.3 grams of methylamphetamine, $70,000 in cash and quantities of MDMA, Suboxone and Liquid Fantasy (GHB).

Police continued a further search of a shed on the property and allegedly located four operable Glock handguns concealed in a cupboard.

A 34-year-old man from Cornubia has been charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 4, possessing dangerous drugs (MDMA), possessing dangerous drugs (buprenorphine), possessing relevant substances or things (GBL), possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act, possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence, unlawful possession of weapons Category D/H/R weapon (4 Glocks) and contravening order about information necessary to access information stored electronically.

The man appeared in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on October 6 and has been remanded in custody to reappear on December 12.

A 23-year-old woman has also been charged with possessing dangerous drugs and possess utensils or pipes etc for use.

She is due to face Beenleigh Magistrates Court on November 10.
