Work to complete the project has progressed rapidly, bringing 50 new Build-to-Rent apartments closer to completion. Major construction works are set to finish by late 2026, with the finished touches expected to be finished in early 2027, weather permitting.
The Crawford and Military Road site is a first-of-its-kind project for Lismore, delivered by the NSW Government’s developer, Landcom.
Key highlights of the project include:
- Affordable Housing: 20% of the homes are reserved as affordable rental housing for residents on low-to-moderate incomes.
- Flood-Resilient Living: Built safely above the flood zone to offer long-term stability and security for residents.
- Diverse Housing Mix: A selection of studio, 1, 2, and 3-bedroom apartments designed to suit a variety of household needs.
- Prime Location: Situated close to local shops, schools, Southern Cross University, and parklands.
Landcom will retain ownership of the properties, with a dedicated operator to be appointed by the end of the year to manage the homes.
The site sits next to the NSW Reconstruction Authority land at Crawford Road, which will also be redeveloped by Landcom to deliver more than 500 additional new homes for the East Lismore community.
Landcom continues to deliver thousands of homes across NSW through its portfolio of projects in Greater Sydney and regional communities including the Northern Rivers, South Coast and Central West.
The Minns Labor Government’s planning reforms and surplus land audit have grown the pipeline of homes for NSW, with the highest number of homes under construction in the country; more than 80,000 homes, and more in the development pipeline.
