Narrogin Detectives with the assistance of Arson Squad detectives have charged a man as a result of their investigation into a fire that destroyed the interior and contents of a church in Brookton on Thursday 23 February 2023.
It will be alleged about 12pm, the man attended the church located on Richardson Street in Brookton and set alight items within the main church hall. The fire spread causing extensive damage to the building and its contents. Damaged is estimated to be a million dollars.
A 47-year-old man from Brookton has been charged with:
• Criminal Damage by Fire; and
• Burglary and Commit on a Place.
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, Friday 24 February 2023.
