Man arrested after Craigburn Farm break-in, South Australia

Police have arrested one man and are looking for a second following a break-in at Craigburn Farm this afternoon.

About 1.45pm on Friday 30 November, occupants of a Cumming Street home heard noises coming from downstairs and upon investigation, saw two men running out of the house.

A number of patrols, along with Dog Operations members, attended and set up cordons around the area. During this time, the two suspects were seen jumping fences through several neighbouring properties.

After an extensive search, one suspect was located and arrested on Gladstone Road at Blackwood just after 3pm.

Officers continued their search for the second suspect but were not able to locate him however did locate a bag containing items allegedly stolen from the Cumming Street home.

A 32-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and theft. He has been refused bail and is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

While checking nearby homes in Blackwood, police located a large amount of stolen tools in one premises which was unrelated to the break-in. As a result, a 40-year-old Blackwood man was reported for unlawful possession. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date. A 24-year-old Morphett Vale woman at the address was also arrested on a warrant.

Any residents in the Blackwood/Craigburn Farm area are urged to contact police if they discover any thefts from their property and also if they happen to locate items within their property which do not belong to them.
