Man arrested and drugs, cash and vehicle seized – north west suburbs

Detectives from Joint Taskforce Icarus and Taskforce Trident arrested a man and executed several warrants in Melbourne’s north west suburbs yesterday as part of an investigation into alleged drug trafficking.

Warrants were executed on Thursday, 12 December at residential properties on Montpellier Drive, Hillside and Winnunga Road, Cairnlea.

Police seized a number of items from the addresses including commercial quantities of drugs, cash, jewellery, luxury goods, and a 2019 model SUV.

A 37-year-old Hillside man was arrested and subsequently charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of MDMA and twelve trafficking offences relating to methylamphetamine, heroin and cocaine.

He faced Melbourne Magistrates Court today and has been remanded to appear again on 10 March, 2020.

The five-month investigation related to the alleged trafficking of methylamphetamine, cocaine and MDMA through the domestic mail system.

Police had previously seized a number of packages containing drugs that are believed to be linked to this investigation
