Man arrested on ‘child-grooming’ charges at Wagga Wagga, NSW

A collaborative investigation between detectives in Sydney and Wagga Wagga has led to the arrest of a man for the alleged grooming of a young person.

About 3.30pm yesterday (Thursday 25 July 2019), a complaint was made at Campsie Police Station against a man by a 15-year-old girl.

Investigations commenced, and a Wagga Wagga man was identified as a person of interest.

About 11.45am (Friday 26 July 2019) officers attached to Riverina Police District attended a residence at Yirribin Road, Glenfield Park.

A 50-year-old man was arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

He was charged with procure child for unlawful sexual activity and failing to comply with reporting obligations.

Bail was refused to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 27 July 2019).
