Man charged following investigation into historical sexual abuse offences – Strike Force Mimo

Detectives have charged a man with alleged historic child sexual and indecent assault offences which occurred in Sydney’s northwest and at various NSW locations from the 1980s to the mid-2000s.

Detectives attached to Riverstone Police Area Command established Strike Force Mimo in August 2021, following reports a man sexually assaulted a teenage girl known to him between 2005 and 2006.

As part of ongoing investigations, police received additional reports of alleged acts of indecency committed against four young boys when the man was a leader of a scout group between 1980 and the mid-1990s.

Following extensive inquiries, investigators attended a home in Dean Park about 9.40am yesterday (Tuesday 3 October 2023), where they arrested a 62-year-old man.

He was taken to Riverstone Police Station and charged with sexual intercourse without consent, three counts of indecent assault on male, and one count of incite person under 16 years to commit act of indecency.

He was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court today (Wednesday 4 October 2023).

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for anyone who may be able to assist detectives with their inquiries.
