Man charged over alleged stabbings in Turramurra

A man has been charged after allegedly stabbing six teenagers during a fight in Sydney’s Upper North Shore at the weekend.

Strike Force Kamilaroy was established by detectives from Kuring-Gai Police Area Command to investigate after six teenagers were stabbed and a 34-year-old man was found injured at a park on Gilroy Road, Turramurra, about 11.30pm on Saturday 12 January 2019.

They were all treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to various hospitals for treatment.

A 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were taken to Royal North Shore Hospital where they underwent surgery. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

A 19-year-old man, a 15-year-old boy and two teenage males, aged 17, were taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment and have since been released.

The 34-year-old man was taken to Westmead Hospital under police guard.

Following inquiries, yesterday (Tuesday 15 January 2019), detectives attended the hospital and charged the older man with attempted murder, wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (x6), and affray.

The Hornsby man was refused bail to appear at Hornsby Local Court yesterday, where he was represented in court and formally refused bail to appear at the same court on Friday (18 January 2019).
