Man charged with further child sexual abuse offences

Detectives from the Child Exploitation Operations Squad (CEO) have charged a 51-year-old man with a further five offences as a result of subsequent forensic digital analysis of electronic devices seized.

On Thursday 30 November 2023, detectives executed a search warrant at the man’s home in the eastern suburbs of Perth. Here various electronic devices were seized and the man was charged with child exploitation offences.

It will be alleged during the ongoing forensic analysis of the electronic devices, it was identified the man utilised various online communication sites to engage with various children.

The 51-year-old man who is currently in prison has been further charged with the offences of:

• Two counts of Producing Child Exploitation Material;

• One count of Intent to Expose a Person Believed to be under 13 years to Indecent Matter;

• One count of Intent to Expose a Person Believed to be under 16 years to Indecent Matter; and

• One count of Possessing Child Exploitation Material.

The man is due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court on 12 January 2024.

During the analysis process, WA Police’s Victim Identification Specialist identified a child in danger in an international jurisdiction and with the assistance of the law enforcement agencies in the United Kingdom and the United States of America the child has been removed from further harm.
