Man charged with high range PCA following crash – Brunswick Heads

A man will face court following a serious crash involving a semitrailer at Brunswick Heads last night.

About 9.20pm yesterday (Tuesday 29 August 2023), emergency services responded to reports that a semitrailer had rolled along the M1 motorway at Brunswick Heads.

Police from Tweed/Byron Police District attended and were told that the truck was allegedly seen swerving between lanes before the trailer jack-knifed, rolling onto its side whilst being towed a short distance further.

The 36-year-old male driver underwent a preliminary roadside breath test which allegedly returned a positive reading.

He was arrested and taken to Byron Bay Police Station where a breath analysis allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.241.

The Sydney man was issued a Court Attendance Notice for drive with high range PCA.
