A man has died after he was run over at a campground at Barooga, west of Albury overnight.
Police have been told a Victorian couple had been camping at the riverside camping ground – 125km west of Albury – when their 4WD ran over the man as he slept in his swag about 9.30pm (Saturday 29 December 2018),
Other campers rendered first aid to the 20-year-old man but he died at the scene.
Officers from Murray River Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
