Man dies after Dromana incident

A man has died in hospital following an incident in Dromana last month.

Emergency services were called to an address at Palmerston Avenue shortly after 8.50pm on 31 January following reports of a neighbourhood dispute.

It’s understood two groups from adjacent properties were involved in a physical altercation after a 37-year-old Hastings man drove at residents of the other property then assaulted them.

The man was subsequently restrained while residents were awaiting police, however he fell unconscious.

He was conveyed to hospital and passed away on 7 February.

The matter will now be investigated by the Homicide Squad following the man’s death.

A 21-year-old Dromana man was interviewed by police on the night of the incident and released pending further enquiries.

Another man and a woman who were at the property with the Dromana man suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital.
