Man dies after Greenacre shooting

A man has died following a public place shooting in Greenacre at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to Mayvic Street shortly after 2.15am on Sunday (23 July 2023), responding to reports three people – sitting in two parked cars – had been injured.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 25-year-old man found injured in one of the parked vehicles.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition; where he has since died today (Thursday 27 July 2023).

A 22-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman located in a separate parked vehicle were also injured. The man remains in hospital, while the woman has since been discharged.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad have taken carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Alpina. This strike force now forms part of Taskforce Magnus being led by State Crime Command (SCC).
