Police can advise that a man critically injured at Muriwai on Saturday has died in hospital.
The 28-year-old was airlifted to Auckland City Hospital after becoming trapped under a sand dune.
He remained in critical condition, but has sadly passed away in hospital today.
Police will carry out enquiries into the man’s death on behalf of the Coroner.
