Man dies following Epping hit run

A man has died following an alleged hit-run collision in Epping last month.

It is believed the 26-year-old was crossing High Street at a set of traffic lights about 8pm on 14 February when he was struck by a vehicle.

The man was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

He died in hospital on 28 February.

The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old Mill Park man, was arrested after attending Epping Police Station following the collision.

He was since charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury, unlicensed driving, fail to stop, and fail to render assistance.

The man has been remanded in custody to reappear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 7 June.
