As stated by Inspector Phil Ward, acting Manawatū Area Commander:
Police have located a male deceased at a property in Highbury today.
Emergency services were called to a Wilson Cres property at around 11:30am today, where a man was located unresponsive.
Police notified ambulance and immediately commenced first aid. Unfortunately this was unsuccessful, and the man was confirmed deceased a short time later.
Enquiries are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
A scene examination has been completed and the cordons on Wilson Cres have since been stood down.
Police will continue to maintain a visible presence in the area in the coming days.
There is no risk to the public following this incident.
