Man dies in suspected hit and run, NSW

A man has died in a suspected hit and run near Sutherland overnight.

About 10.55pm (Saturday 14 December 2019), emergency services were called to Prince Edward Park Road, near Thorp Road, Woronora, after a man aged in his 40s was located seriously injured on the side of the road.

Officers from Sutherland Shire Police Command attended and performed CPR on the injured man. Despite medical efforts, the man could not be revived and died at the scene.

Inquiries suggest he had been struck by a white 4WD.

A crime scene remains in place at the location and officers from the Crash Investigation Unit will attend to conduct a forensic examination.

As inquiries continue, anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam vision is urged to come forward.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
