Man dies in three-vehicle crash, NSW

A man has died after a three-vehicle crash in the Airport Tunnel in Mascot today.

About 6.45am (Friday 21 August 2020), emergency services were called to General Holmes Drive after reports that two cars and a truck collided in the southbound lane before the M5 turnoff.

Officers attached to South Sydney Police Area Command attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics.

One man died at the scene and a woman has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A third driver has been taken for mandatory blood and urine testing.

A crime scene has been established and the Crash Investigation Unit have commenced inquiries.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.

There are significant delays with two of three southbound lanes closed in the Airport Tunnel, as well as one of five northbound lanes.

Traffic is very heavy in both directions, so motorists are advised to allow plenty of extra travel time or avoid the area.
