Man drives at pedestrians in Kilsyth

Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released an image of a man as part of an investigation into several deception incidents and reports the man drove towards two pedestrians earlier this month.

Detectives have been told the man stole a number of items from a car in Newcastle Street in Yarraville on Sunday 8 January about 4.15pm.

Detectives have released images of the man who has been captured on CCTV getting in and out of a black BMW X4, with stolen registration plates, at the location of all the deceptions.

Officers are also investigating an incident, involving the BMW X4, in the vicinity of Lilydale Basketball Stadium in Kilsyth on Monday 9 January about 9pm.

Detectives are following up reports the BMW’s headlights were seen flashing before the driver drove towards two pedestrians and then quickly swerved away at the last minute.

Two rear seat passengers got out of the car and threatened the pedestrians before they jumped back in and were last seen driving away on Paramount Avenue.

The driver of the car is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, about 19-years-old, about 180cm tall with a medium build and brown hair.
