Man extradited from Victoria over sexual assault in Minto

A man will appear in court today charged with an outstanding warrant after being extradited from Victoria over an alleged sexual assault in Sydney’s west.

Earlier this month, detectives from Campbelltown City Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a 29-year-old woman near Minto Railway Station on Saturday 4 April 2020.

As a result of inquiries, it was identified the man was living interstate and with the assistance of Victoria Police detectives, a 26-year-old man was arrested on a NSW warrant at Dandenong in Melbourne’s south-east on Tuesday (21 April 2020).

The man appeared at Dandenong Local Court, where NSW Police Force detectives applied for and were granted his extradition to NSW.

The man was escorted to Albury Police Station, where he was charged with an outstanding warrant for aggravated – sexually touch another person and two counts of aggravated sex assault victim with cognitive impairment.

He is due to appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Thursday 23 April 2020).
