Man in court over sexual act on train, NSW

A man has been charged after allegedly committing a sexual act on a train in front of a teenager in Sydney’s west.

About 8am on Wednesday 13 May 2020, an 18-year-old woman boarded a west-bound train at Parramatta Railway Station and sat in a carriage.

Police will allege a man entered the carriage and sat facing the woman, before exposing himself and committing a sexual act.

The woman got off the train at Blacktown, before police were notified.

Officers from the Police Transport Command – North West commenced an investigation.

Following extensive inquiries, investigators arrested a 37-year-old man at the intersection of Church and Campbell streets, Parramatta, about midday yesterday (Thursday 28 May 2020).

He was taken to Parramatta Police Station and charged with carry out sexual act with another without consent and travel or attempt travel without valid ticket.

The Auburn man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Friday 29 May 2020).
