Man in serious condition after crash at Matraville, NSW

Police are investigating a serious crash in Sydney’s east.

About 5.40pm today (Sunday 25 August 2019), emergency services were called to the intersection of Bumborah Point Road and Botany Road, Matraville, after reports of crash between a bus and car.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command and NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended.

A male passenger of the Holden Commodore was trapped before he was removed and taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious condition.

The male driver of the car suffered non-life-threatening injuries and has been taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition.

The male bus driver was uninjured. There were no passengers on the bus.

Botany Road remains closed in a westbound direction whilst the scene is examined.

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are attending the scene.
