Man injured during home invasion in Roselands

An investigation has commenced after a man was injured during a home invasion in Sydney’s south-west overnight.

Just before midnight (Wednesday 5 February 2020), a 46-year-old man woke to find two men inside his Springfield Avenue home in Roselands.

The men, who were dressed in dark clothing and armed with a crowbar, assaulted the occupant with the weapon while demanding cash.

The occupant suffered a suspected fractured hand, cuts and bruising during the assault before the men ransacked his home and fled the scene.

He was taken to Bankstown Hospital for further treatment.

Detectives from Campsie Police Area Command have established a crime scene and a full investigation is now underway.

It’s not known at this stage what property, if any, was stolen.
