A man has been taken to hospital with gunshot wounds after being shot on the state’s Central Coast this morning.
About 6.15am (Wednesday 9 September 2026), emergency services were called to Lakege Avenue, near Kingsford Smith Road, Berkeley Vale, after reports of a shooting.
Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended and found a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his hand and torso.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being airlifted to hospital in a serious
condition.
Police have established a crime scene, and Tuggerah Lakes detectives have commenced an investigation into the incident.
As investigations continue, police are appealing to speak with a driver seen in the area at the time of the shooting.
The driver was last seen driving a silver GWM 4WD utility with roof racks and a roll bar.
