Man to face Court after firearms seized – Strike Force Orca

A man has been charged with drug and firearms offences after police seized a sub machine gun following the search of a house at Guildford.

Strike Force Orca is an ongoing investigation by Bankstown Detectives into the drug supply, drug manufacture, firearm possession and mid-level organised crime within the Bankstown area.

Just before 7.30am on Tuesday 5 December 2023, investigators attached to Strike Force Orca, along with specialist police, attended a house in Albert Street, Guildford.

Inside the house, police located a sub machine gun, a replica handgun, a sling shot, one round of ammunition, a home-made walking cane with a retractable sword and a quantity of what police will allege in Court to be Butanediol.

Police arrested a 46-year-old man, who was subject to a Firearms Prohibition Order and a Weapons Prohibition Order.

The man was taken to Granville Police Station where he was charged with eight offences, including possess prohibited firearm, not store firearm safely, possess ammunition, two counts of possess prohibited weapon, possess firearm while subject to a Firearms Prohibition Order and possess prohibited weapon while subject to Weapons Prohibition Order.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 6 December 2023).
