Marveloo services Arts for All

The City of Ballarat’s Marveloo will service the Royal South Street Society’s The Arts for All, held from 9-11 September.

Now in its third year, The Arts for All is the arm of the Royal South Street Society that has been created for people living with a disability.

The event features vocal, dance, instrumental, speech and drama. It celebrates performing arts and encourages everyone, regardless of their ability, to take to the stage.

The Marveloo will be available for performers and patrons of the event, which is being held at the RACV Goldfields Resort in Creswick.

The City of Ballarat unveiled Ballarat’s own Marveloo in 2018 after receiving a $100,000 State Government grant to build the facility. The Marveloo, which is temporarily based at Mars Stadium, is an Adult Changing Place that has a fixed ceiling hoist, an adult change table, and a fully accessible toilet.

The facility is designed to cater for the needs of people with a profound disability and, because it’s transportable, is improving inclusion for many people at events in and around Ballarat.

The Marveloo promotes inclusion of people with disabilities – enabling them to participate more fully in the community, which is a key feature of the City of Ballarat’s Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2019-2022 and the Health and Wellbeing Plan 2017-2021.
