MCA welcomes new Labor Shadow Ministry

MCA welcomes the appointment of the Shadow Ministry by Labor Leader the Hon Anthony Albanese MP.

In particular, the appointment of Member for Hunter Joel Fitzgibbon as Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Resources will reinforce the importance of jobs and investment in Australia’s regional communities with Labor’s leadership team, MPs and Senators.

We acknowledge the contribution made by Mr Jason Clare MP as the Shadow Minister for Resources in the previous parliamentary term and wish him well in his new portfolio of Regional Services, Territories and Local Government, which is important to communities across Australia.

The appointment of Ms Terri Butler MP as the Shadow Minister for Environment and Water is welcome as Australian businesses are actively working to reduce the duplication of Federal and state environmental approvals.

MCA also looks forward to working with Mr Tony Burke MP in Industrial Relations and Ms Madeleine King MP in the crucial trade portfolio.

MCA will work with all parties in the new Parliament to support the delivery of reforms in policy areas such as workplace relations, environmental reform and reducing red tape so Australia’s minerals industry stays in front of its global competitors.
