MEDIA ADVISORY Critical incident investigation underway after three injured in Blacktown

Police will address the media after three people were injured at Blacktown today.

Emergency services were called to Stephen Street about 4.45am (Thursday 14 March 2019), following reports of a home invasion.

One man was located at the home with a gunshot wound to the thigh, while the other was found with injuries believed to have been caused by an axe. Both are believed to be occupants of the home.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command attended and confronted a man as he was running from the rear of the home. The 33-year-old, who was armed with a firearm, was shot in the wrist by police.

A critical incident investigation is underway.
