Mike Rowe formally appointed as Communities Director General

  • Mike Rowe formally appointed to the position of Director General at the Department of Communities
  • Mr Rowe holds 30-years of public service experience and his appointment is effective immediately

The State Government has confirmed the formal appointment of Mike Rowe to the position of Director General at the Department of Communities (Communities).

Mr Rowe first moved into the role in 2021, having transferred from the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation where he also held the position of Director General.

Mr Rowe has worked in a variety of high-level leadership, policy and advisory roles in a career spanning 30-years and he is a respected and experienced member of the State Government’s senior executive team.

His formal appointment will continue to see him leading Communities’ strategic plan with the agency responsible for delivering vital frontline social services across critical State Government functions such as Housing, Child Protection, Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence, Community Services and Disability Services.

His appointment is effective immediately and the State Government looks forward to further strong leadership for Communities under Mr Rowe’s tenure.
