Mongols OMCG Member Charged

Detectives from the Gang Crime Squad have a charged a 30-year-old Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang member with a number of serious offences, following an incident which occurred on Tuesday 28 November 2023.

About 1.30am, police were called to a home in Clarkson, following reports a 30-year-old man had allegedly assaulted his female partner, before leaving the scene.

Following inquiries, about 9.50am that morning, police attempted to stop a black Mercedes Benz sedan on a street in Clarkson. The driver allegedly failed to stop and accelerated away.

Due to the manner of driving, officers did not attempt to follow the Mercedes.

About 11.45am, police observed the Mercedes travelling through the intersection of Moore Drive and Connolly Drive in Currambine; however, it again failed to stop.

Police Air Wing monitored the Mercedes as it travelled south on Marmion Avenue through Connolly and Ocean Reef, before it eventually stopped at a home on Ione Place in Craigie.

The driver was arrested at the scene just before midday.

The 30-year-old Clarkson man was charged with serious offences, including;

2 x Reckless Driving to Escape Pursuit by Police

2 x Driver Failed to Stop (Circumstance of Aggravation)

2 x Breach of Police Order

2 x No Authority to Driver (Never Held)

1 x Impeded Another Person’s Normal Breathing or Blood Circulation by Applying Pressure to Neck

1 x Criminal Damage or Destruction of Property

1 x Common Assault in Circumstances of Aggravation or Racial Aggravation

He is next due to appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court today, Monday 11 December 2023.
