Mordi Fest returns in 2020 with huge line-up of music, food and wine

The best of the region’s gourmet food, wine and entertainment is set to bring Mordialloc’s foreshore to life as Mordi Fest comes to town on Saturday 29 February and Sunday 1 March. The two-day event offers non-stop music across four live stages showcasing local and international artists. A huge line-up of acts – including headliners Youth Group and Dragon – is set to draw thousands to the seaside hotspot for two days of non-stop entertainment.

Mordi Fest’s line-up also includes crowd favourites Geoff Achison, Hobsons Bay Coast Guard, Jaguar Jonze, Press Club and Feelds.

Festival goers can enjoy the sights and sounds of the main Pier Stage, the Beach Stage, Jam Café and the Freeza Stage, an alcohol-free area for those who need a quick breather from festival chaos.

To keep the kids entertained there will be Ferris wheel, amusements, face painting and roving entertainment.

More than 40 of Melbourne’s favourite food vans and restaurants will be on offer along with 15 licenced sites including local brewers Bad Shepherd, Black Rock’s True South brewery and restaurant and St Andrews Beach brewery.

Kingston Mayor Georgina Oxley said Mordi Fest will be bigger and better than ever this year. “We’ve got an exciting program packed with something for absolutely everybody,” Cr Oxley said.

“Mordi Fest provides visitors with big name musicians, up-and-coming bands and the best gourmet food, regionally-made wines and boutique beer Melbourne has to offer.”

The family-friendly, no BYO and no dog festival, runs 11am-10pm Saturday and 11am-7pm Sunday and is expected to attract more than 40,000 people. Entry costs $2 per person or $5 for a family.

All proceeds from this year’s entry fee will be donated to help with the bushfire recovery. The funds will be shared equally between Wildlife Victoria (Victorian Bushfire Appeal) and Zoos Victoria (Bushfire Emergency Wildlife Fund).
