More chaos and dysfunction for Will Hodgman

Tasmanian Labor
  • Sue Hickey votes with the Greens in Parliament today
  • Will Hodgman struggles to keep Sue Hickey in line
  • Hodgman Minority Government surrounded by chaos and dysfunction
  • It’s clear Will Hodgman has lost control of his party as he struggles to keep the Member for Clark, Sue Hickey, in line.

Leader of Opposition Business in the House of Assembly, David O’Byrne, said Ms Hickey’s decision to stand with the Greens in Parliament today makes a mockery of Will Hodgman.

“Sue Hickey today sided with the Greens over a motion to change the process of Question Time,” Mr O’Byrne said.

“In every vote of the House the Labor team votes together, but in an increasingly regular display of disunity and dysfunction, Sue Hickey votes against her party and in direct and flagrant disrespect to the Premier, in response he meekly rolls over.

“The truth is, Will Hodgman has lost control of his party and is struggling to govern surrounded by this chaos and dysfunction.

“Hodgman plays the tough guy at the dispatch box but is a feeble mess when called upon to lead. At what point does he stand up for his own leadership?”
