  • The Miles Government’s Regional Jobs Committee initiative is expanding to the Sunshine Coast
  • Caloundra Chamber of Commerce will drive growth amongst Sunshine Coast businesses and industry to meet future economic needs
  • New Regional Jobs Committees (RJCs) have also launched in Central Queensland and Mount Isa.

Caloundra Chamber of Commerce will receive up to $300,000 in Miles Government funding over 18-months to identify future growth industries and lead new job training and career pathways.

A new Regional Jobs Committee for the Sunshine Coast led by the Chamber was launched today by Member for Caloundra Jason Hunt at Rockpool Residential Aged Care.

Rockpool is looking for skilled workers and predicts it will need up to 100 on-site staff as the centre grows.

The Sunshine Coast Regional Jobs Committee is one of 12 across Queensland to connect job seekers with local training and work opportunities in a growing economy.

Data from Jobs Queensland predicts jobs growth on the Sunshine Coast will be the second highest in the State by 2025-26 with a 12.5 per cent increase in vacancies, or more than 22,500 extra employment opportunities.

Health care, social assistance and age care are tipped to become one of the fastest growing businesses on the Sunshine Coast.

New Regional Jobs Committees have also been launched in Mount Isa and Central Queensland and are part of the Miles Government’s Good people. Good jobs: Queensland Workforce Strategy 2022-2032.
