More Sport Grant Funding Supporting our Community

The Territory Labor Government has invested in Territory sport and recreation clubs and organisations through awarding the second round of successful recipients for the 2020-2021 Grass Roots Grant Program.

Over $67,000 worth of grants have now been awarded to 21 recreation clubs and organisations across the NT, which will see them increasing participation in sport and active recreation.

Some of the local clubs and recreation organisations who received these grants are:

  • Darwin Parachute Club Inc. – $5000 for an aircraft ferry and sport promotions program
  • Garrak Bombers Sporting Association Incorporated – $1435 for portable shade and volunteer equipment
  • The Palmerston Game Fishing Club Inc. – $3600 for First Aid training for members
  • Arafura Dance Association Inc. – $3799 to purchase volunteer IT equipment
  • West Football Club – $2348 for volunteer IT equipment and a Level 1 sports trainer course

Successful recipients needed to pass the Sport Australia Club Development Health Check, demonstrate that they meet the Play by the Rules guidelines and good Sports Resources kit, and are registered with the Australian Sports Foundation.
