Artist Demonstrations

Saturday 7 October 2 pm – 3 pm

Kristin Wohlers – Which adhesive can I use?

Kristin will explore the variety of adhesives available that can be used for different types of mosaics.

Saturday 14 October 2 pm – 3.30 pm
Elaine Spence and Helen Blackman – The use of slate, other rock, and found objects.

Elaine and Helen will demonstrate the use of slate and other rock types in mosaics, including how to cut, and the use of complementary materials, all bedded in cement adhesive.

Saturday 21 October 2 pm – 3.30 pm
Penny Craig – Marble and Smalti in Mosaics

Penny’s materials of choice are the gradations of marble limestone and travertine worked together with the rich colours of Italian smalti. You can observe how these materials are cut and embedded in a cement adhesive so that no grouting is necessary.

Saturday 28 October 2 pm – 3.30 pm
Anne Allen – Working with Mixed Media

Anne will focus on using nippers and glass cutters to create a mosaic using a range of tesserae such as smalti, stained glass, ceramics, glazed china and others.
