Motorcyclist dies after crash in Southern Highlands

A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a truck in the state’s Southern Highlands today.

About 10.20am (Tuesday 15 February 2022), emergency services were called to the intersection of Argyle Street and Waite Street, Moss Vale, following reports a southbound truck and motorcycle travelling north had collided.

The male rider, aged 63, was trapped under the truck before being released by members of the public, who commenced CPR.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics arrived shortly after but despite efforts to revive him, he died at the scene.

The driver of the truck – a 26-year-old man – was not injured and was taken to Bowral District Hospital for mandatory testing.

Police are appealing for witnesses – including motorists with dashcam vision or nearby businesses with CCTV of the crash – to contact Southern Highlands Police on 4868 1222 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
