Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are on scene at a vegetation fire burning at the base of Mount Elliot along the Bruce Highway between Killymoon Creek and Mackenzie Creek. Firefighters are working with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) crews to contain the fire and there is no threat to property at this time. Smoke is affecting the surrounding area, including the Bruce Highway. Residents should close windows and doors, and keep respiratory mediations close by if possible. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions, and be mindful of crews working along the roadside. If you feel your property is under threat, call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
