Townsville City Council is undertaking road maintenance on Mount Low Parkway near the Bruce Highway.
Work has commenced today (7 December) with Council crews expected to spend two weeks repairing the pavement within the boundaries of the Bruce Highway and Bonnett Road.
Deputy Mayor and Infrastructure Services Committee chairperson Mark Molachino said the project would involve some lane closures and detours.
“Mount Low Parkway is an important link to the highway for local residents and businesses, so this road maintenance is required to maintain a safe road network,” Cr Molachino said.
“The $70,000 project will prolong the life of the road and improve safety.
“The 70-metre reconstruction will close the lane heading towards Mount Low, so there will be a traffic diversion in place.
“We will have traffic management on site and the project is expected to be completed by 18 December.”
