Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man with one count of murder following an alleged fatal assault in Warrnambool last year.
A 28-year-old Warrnambool woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injures following the incident on 27 November 2019 however she died in hospital on 4 December.
The 37-year-old Warrnambool man was initially charged with intentionally cause serious injury and recklessly cause serious injury.
On Friday, those charges were upgraded to one count of murder.
He was further remanded to appear at Warrnambool Magistrates’ Court for committal mention on 27 March.
