Daniel Andrews must immediately apologise for the disgraceful comments made today by his Minister Natalie Hutchins.
Reports today have highlighted the case of Melbourne woman Kylie Hennessy, who has been forced to travel interstate to receive vital scans on a brain tumour because no scanning equipment was available in Victoria.
Speaking on this case, Minister Hutchins stated”I know from time to time equipment isn’t available… I don’t know the details…but I do know that sometimes you’ve just gotta roll with the punches.”
This shameful and uncaring comment comes just weeks after Health Minister Mary-Anne Thomas stated that”I need to make this point, people in our health system do not always have good outcomes”.
These statements highlight the dismissive and insulting approach of this government towards Victorians in need of vital health treatment.
This is not the attitude of a government prepared to fix the crisis it has caused in Victoria’s health system.
For Labor, it’ll always be politics before people.
