National Simultaneous Storytime 2022

Storytime

Hawkesbury Library Service is proud to participate in National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday, 25 May from 10:30am to midday. This event is suitable for children aged two to five years, but all welcome.

National Simultaneous Storytime is a reading event that is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association. Hawkesbury Library Service is a member of the Association. The event aims to promote the value of reading and literacy using an Australian children’s book that explores age-appropriate themes. It also addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.

Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. National Simultaneous Storytime is now in its 22nd year and the book selected is Family Tree, written by Josh Pike, illustrated by Ronojoy Ghosh and published by Scholastic Australia.
