We have a large high pressure system moving into the south-east and extending a ridge across much of the continent. Tomorrow is going to be another very frosty start for many across the country.
However, there are still a few regions which will see some showers, including coastal parts of Victoria, New South Wales and southern Queensland, western Tasmania. And out west, we have a weak cold front moving through throughout the day and that is going to bring some showers and isolated thunderstorms to south-western parts of Western Australia.
Let’s now take a look state by state. Starting in Queensland, which is very much seeing that settled weather once again. We’ll have plenty of morning frost through central and southern inland parts of the state. We can see here Roma getting down to -2 °C tomorrow. Now it will be a dry and sunny day for many across the state, but we’ll still see some cloud and shower activity along the coastal fringe, particularly in the south. So for Brisbane, what that means is that we could see some morning fog tomorrow in the western parts of the city. Then it will be a partly cloudy day, with a top of 22 °C and the chance of an isolated shower.
New South Wales is also seeing plenty of that morning frost through inland areas. We’ll also see some fog about the east. Now it will be a dry day for many across New South Wales, but some showers are expected through central and northern parts of the coastline. For Sydney tomorrow, a lovely sunny day with a top of 18 °C and just the chance of an isolated shower about eastern parts.
And for Canberra, once again very cold tomorrow morning, then warming up to a top of 15 °C and a mostly sunny day.
Victoria will also see plenty of that morning fog and frost through inland parts, even extending a little bit further south than we’ve seen over the past couple of days. Now, although it will be a sunny afternoon for some, in the south we still have some lingering cloud and isolated shower activity. For Melbourne tomorrow, a partly cloudy day with a top of 13 °C.
A cool day in Tasmania with this south-westerly flow continuing to bring a stream of showers through our western parts as well as about the far south. For Hobart, it will be a partly cloudy day with a top of 15 °C, and up in the north-east will be a fine and clear day. We’ll have a frosty start for Launceston, getting down to 0 °C, then a mostly sunny day with a top of 15 °C.
South Australia also seeing plenty of this settled weather. We’ll have morning fog and frost through our agricultural areas. We’ll also have some frost with these very chilly temperatures up in the north-west. Adelaide could see some morning fog about the hills or southern suburbs. It will then clear up to a top of 15 °C.
Western Australia will see a dry day for many, with plenty of sunshine. However, we do have a weak cold front moving through the south-west throughout the day. That’s going to bring some showers to our south-west capes from the morning, and then gradually extending a little bit further to the north and east throughout the day. For Perth, it will be a dry start and we’ll see a top of 21 °C, but some of that isolated shower activity may reach the city in the evening.
In the Northern Territory, we have some isolated shower activity possible once again in the eastern Arnhem district. We also have some morning fog possible in that area. Further south it will be a very frosty start, Alice dropping down to just 1 °C tomorrow morning. And for Darwin, tomorrow morning will actually be warmer than it has been over the past couple of days. We’ll see 21 °C, then a mostly sunny day with a top of 32 °C.
