Nationals focused on delivering for regional Australia

The Federal President of The Nationals the Hon Larry Anthony said today that the new changes to The Nationals Ministry reflected the continued focus of the Party on supporting the eight million Australians that live in regional, rural and remote communities.

Mr Anthony congratulated the Hon David Littleproud MP on becoming the Minister for Agriculture which reflected the importance of the sector to the Australian economy.

The promotion of the Hon Keith Pitt MP as the Minister for Resources, Water and Northern Australia will ensure that the resources industry will remain at the forefront of The Nationals focus and as the Member for Hinkler, has a deep understanding of the opportunities that abound across northern Australia.

Mr Anthony paid tribute to the outstanding work that former Minister Senator the Hon Matthew Canavan brought to the role as Minister for Resources and his relentless championing of the industry.

The promotion of the Hon Darren Chester MP to Cabinet shows the importance of the Veterans Affairs portfolio and reflects his hard work in this area.

The new responsibilities for the Hon Andrew Gee MP, the Hon Mark Coulton MP, Kevin Hogan MP and the Hon Michelle Landry MP underscore the importance of supporting and delivering for regional Australia, particularly during the challenging times the nation is experiencing.

Along with the Deputy Prime Minister the Hon Michael McCormack MP, The Nationals Ministry team is firmly focused on delivering for those Australians who live outside our capital cities.
