Neighbour assaulted during home invasion in South Hurstville

Investigations have commenced following a home invasion in South Hurstville today.

About 3pm (Thursday 1 October 2020), a man armed with a knife forced his way into a unit on William Street and threatened a 40-year-old female occupant.

The man stole cash and was leaving the unit when he punched an elderly neighbour, who had intervened.

The neighbour suffered minor injuries that were treated at the scene.

The occupant of the unit was not injured.

Officers from St George Police Area Command attended, and a crime scene has now been established as investigations commence.

It’s believed the man left the scene in a stolen blue Holden Commodore and was last seen heading west on King Georges Road.
