Students across the Territory are set to benefit from upgrades to their school infrastructure from the beginning of Semester two this year.
To date, 137 of the Territory’s government schools have had their works completed through the Building Better Schools programs.
Casuarina Senior College students will benefit from recently upgraded facilities designed to support their Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.
The recent upgrades, which improve the layout and functionality of the STEM centre, have been completed by local construction company Maxcon Pty Ltd.
Upgrades included the construction of a teacher’s preparation area, refurbishing the woodworking area for better functionality and ventilation control, and the addition of a new general learning area which will be used as a classroom.
A tender has also been released for the construction of a STEAM centre at Dripstone Middle School.
Other schools who are also welcoming new upgrades include:
– A new playground at Mulga Bore School;
– A new outdoor learning area at Manyallaluk School;
– A new playground at Peppimenarti School; and
– New ablutions at Pine Creek School.
This Labor Government is investing a record $1.185 billion in education in 2022/23, which includes several other infrastructure highlights.
