New Holocaust Museum in South Australia

The Morrison Government is providing $2.5 million towards the establishment of the Adelaide Holocaust Museum and Steiner Education Centre in South Australia.

Minister for Education Dan Tehan said the Holocaust Museum would allow students, teachers and adults to better understand the Holocaust and its impact on the world.

“This year marked the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II – people of all ages, and particularly our young people, must learn about this dark period in history to ensure nothing like it can ever happen again,” Mr Tehan said.

“The Holocaust Museum will allow for the collection and preservation of historic objects relating to the Holocaust, provide spaces for education programs, and host travelling exhibits.

“The Museum will highlight the impact of racism in a historical and current context, and ensure generations of South Australians can learn about the past to prevent discrimination and prejudice in the present and future.

“The Morrison Government is proud to support the establishment of South Australia’s Holocaust Museum.”
