New hospital to deliver healthcare Melbourne’s west deserves

Liberal Party Victoria

Families in Melbourne’s west will receive the health services they deserve under the Liberal Nationals’ plan to fix Victoria’s healthcare crisis.

Despite the continued growth across Melton and Melbourne’s west, the State Government has failed to deliver the hospitals and health services these communities need.

Years of underinvestment has forced emergency departments to turn away patients, caused surgery wait times to blow out and left Victorians in need waiting hours for an ambulance.

That’s why the Victorian Liberal Nationals will build a new Melton Hospital, with construction to start within twelve months of a future Matthew Guy Government.

This new hospital is part of the Victorian Liberal Nationals’ plan to fix Victoria’s health crisis, which includes a newInfectious Diseases Response Centre so we can treat the sick without locking up the healthy and keep our community moving forward.

Victorians in need deserve better than to be turned away from hospitals, wait hours for an ambulance or to have their lives placed on hold for years awaiting critical surgery and treatments.

The Victorian Liberal Nationals have a plan to get our health system working again so families and residents in Melton and across Victoria can recover, rebuild and get on with their lives.

As stated by Leader of the Opposition, Matthew Guy:

“Communities across Melbourne’s west has been left behind by this State Government – our plan will deliver real solutions to everyday problems that have been ignored for too long.

“Accessing basic healthcare should never be a struggle. We will fix Victoria’s health crisis so families can recover, rebuild and move forward in confidence.”

As stated by Shadow Minister for Health, Georgie Crozier:

“Years of neglect and underinvestment in healthcare have resulted in a system in crisis that simply isn’t delivering for local communities.

“By getting on with delivering a new hospital for Melton, communities across Melbourne’s west will be better able to access the healthcare they need, when they need it.”
