As stated by Lands Minister Ben Wyatt:

“There is strong demand for expanded housing options in Kalgoorlie-Boulder with a number of infrastructure projects underway in the region.

“The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s Strategic Community Plan adopted at the end of last year quotes a predicted 30 per cent growth in population over the next 10 years, driven by hundreds of prospective resource projects and an increased focus on residential workforce over FIFO.

“With projects such as Lynas Corps’ $500 million rare earths-processing plant creating hundreds of jobs during construction, and the recent sale of the Super Pit giving the life span of the Golden Mile a big boost, it is timely to release this lot.

“GreenView at Karlkurla is aptly named given its enviable location directly adjacent to the Kalgoorlie Golf Course.

“It will continue to service housing demand in the region for the next 20 years.”

As stated by Mining and Pastoral Region MLC Kyle McGinn:

“A diverse range of housing available continues to be an issue for Kalgoorlie-Boulder, and this announcement today goes a long way to potentially filling a real gap here with the prospect of up to 75 apartments possibly being built.

“I am very pleased the Minister has made this announcement today and know it will have a huge impact on our city, including for job creation of course with up to 64 jobs created.”
