The State Government is calling on food/beverage, and creative businesses to register their interest for commercial lease opportunities within the Perth Cultural Centre.
About 1,000m2 of commercial space is being made available.
A mix of café, restaurant, pop-up and commercial tenancies are available over six lease locations.
These include a new space at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, two pop-up locations in the Perth Cultural Centre and three spaces in the new museum, which is on track to open in 2020.
Local businesses are encouraged to put forward ideas that will complement the cultural experiences on offer, and create an exciting destination for locals and tourists.
Companies can register their early interest at https://www.mcgees.com.au
Expressions of interest will be released on February 4, 2019. Request for Proposals will follow the expressions of interest process, with submissions closing in March 2019.
As stated by Culture and the Arts Minister David Templeman:
“The State Government is delivering a new strategy to improve the cultural offerings in the heart of the city.
“The rejuvenation of the Perth Cultural Centre, including the McGowan Government’s $10 million investment to activate the Art Gallery rooftop and $395.9 million new museum, is creating a vibrant hub for cultural and social experiences in this State.
“The Perth Cultural Centre draws 10 million visitors each year. This is an exceptional opportunity for local businesses to showcase the best our city has to offer and attract tourists to our capital city for longer.”
As stated by Perth MLA John Carey:
“Along with the New Museum project, these new business opportunities in the Perth Cultural Centre will further activate the precinct.
“I am looking forward to seeing these exciting new initiatives take shape.”
